Greetings everyone,

It has been a busy and exciting year for the Zeki Family. With lots of traveling, spending time with family and the like, we have had our share of fun times. We are gearing up for a fabulous Holiday Season with travels up to the great Pacific Northwest. Here are a few pictures from the latter half of 2009. Summer Livin'

Hello All,

It has been a long while since we have sent an update on our family. We have had an amazing summer thus far, spending our time with family and friends.

I, Danielle, have been off work for the summer since June 4th and loving every minute of it! Laith and I have been spending our time going on walks to the many parks in Rocklin with friends and going to the pool. Laith has become quite the little swimmer, and what fun it is too see him grow and have this time to spend with him.

Ahmad has taken on a new work-at-home job with Metlife Ins. which he seems to be enjoying. I know I enjoy having him around more :)

We have taken a family trips this summer. The first to Vancouver, Wa to celebrate my 30th birthday....yes, I did say 30. I feel great being 30 and had fun celebrating with some friends and family in Portland.

The second trip was a road trip Ahmad, Laith and I made to the Redwood forest, Santa Cruz, and Capitola. We had an absolutely amazing time. The redwoods were beautiful, the beaches were fun and it was all in all a nice get away from the Sacramento heat.

We have a few more trips planned to the NW before Summers end. Ahmad's band Listener Discretion will be putting on a show in Seattle Aug. 22nd. The final trip will be for the Annual Dave Matthews concert in the Gorge, Wa.

We are now expecting Tricia, Makayla, Ellie and Mitchel tomorrow. They are coming to visit us for the weekend. It's going to be great to see all the kids together again. I am sure there will be lots of swimming, cooking, eating, and walks to the park.......

Spring/2009

Hello everyone,

The Zeki household has been busy the last few months between traveling to Seattle, Portland and San Francisco, Ahmad starting a new job and traveling back-and-forth to Chicago, IL and Danielle approaching on her final days of the elementary school year at Rocklin Elementary school. Laith is growing big everyday.

Grandma and the girls visit...

This last weekend Grandma (Mom) Glenz, Aunt Tricia, Makayla and Ellie braved the lond drive from Vancouver, Wa to come hang out with us for the weekend. We are so happy they came to visit, but a little worried about their stormy drive home. (Tricia is driving the girls back by herself so Grandma can hang out for the week.)
We had lots of fun together going to John's Incredible Pizza, watching movies, going on short walks to the store, and laughing!! We miss them already and are looking forward to the next time we get to see them again.
Tricia and the girls still have about 6 hours left on their stormy drive home.....I will keep you updated on their arrival home......

San Fran with Laith

We went to San Francisco to meet our friends' Nicholas' and Teresa's new baby boy Joshua. Laith had fun traveling in the city and seeing all the new sights. We had another great meal in Sausalito and then stayed up WAY too late trying to play Rummy.....and trying get and keep babies asleep....Good times with great friends!!

Ahmad's 29th Birthday!!!

On January 17th, 2009, we celebrated Ahmad and Cory's birthday in San Francisco, Ca. Ahmad and Cory share the same birthday......(not the same year...ha ha ha). We started our night with a delicious dinner in a unique alley of restaurants, like one you would see in a movie!!! After dinner we met up with a few other friends from Sacramento and enjoyed a rare night out on the town......

Bike Ride to Local Park

A few weeks ago, we took a bike ride to a local park in Rocklin. Laith enjoyed the beautiful scenery from his high-tech wagon. This rig is great. Snacks and drinks are served at every stop. Must be fun being a kid these days. :o) Here are some pictures from our journey.

Saysha

So we were at Costco last night and while we were patiently waiting in line to purchase our items we were entertained by the family ahead of us. The parents were busy figuring out their purchases and paying while their little daughter was running around crazily like little ones do. Finally the parents noticed she was a ways out and started yelling "Saysha! Saysha!"

For some reason I blurted out laughing and found the whole scene really amusing. (As if the same scenario will never happen to us :) ha ha ha.) Ahmad caught on to my amusement and as we were walking to our van we started saying "Saysha! Saysha! Saysha!" and laughing really loud. Unbeknownst to us, the Saysha family was parked right next to us! Oh no....I think the may have heard us! Then....I looked down and Laith is saying Saysha too.....oh boy, what have we started!

It has been over a day since this happened and all 3 of us are still randomly saying "Saysha!"
Amusing to us....hopefully it is to you :)

Back to the grind!!!

Hello everyone,

Well, we are all back to the grind as most people are by now. Ahmad is back at work in insurance. Danielle is busy with her kids at the elementary school and Laith is busy being Laith during the day while at his grandparents' house.

We thought some of you might enjoy some pictures from our fun-filled trip to the Glenz family stopping grounds. In these pictures, you will find Laith bundled up for a fun day out in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Next, you will find our dear friends from Seattle Cory and Kelly. We made it to the Pacific Northwest. Lots of snow here! Beautiful. We had a great Christmas and we are now recovering from overeating and excessive videogame playing (Wii). All in all, we are having a great time and we are thankful for safe travels and a little rain to melt the snow.

Laith turns 1!

Ya ya, we know. It has been a few months, but Danielle stumbled upon this cool blogger website and now we are retroactively working to get pictures of recent milestones posted.

Laith turned one on 10/21/2008. We are proud parents of a wonderful, happy, active boy who never ceases to amaze us with his uncanny wit, strong purpose and cheerful manner. With love, The Zeki family.

NW Winter Trip 2008

We are all packed and ready to go home to the Glenz Family homestead. We are anxious to spend time with everyone and play in the snow, but also worried that our flight might get cancelled or delayed due to snow......only time will tell.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. We miss all of our family and friends and hope to see everyone more in the year 2009!

I have been wanting to try this for awhile, so I thought now is as good as time as any. I mostly want to start a blog to keep far away family and friends updated on the little things that happen in our lives. I also think it is a good way to journal the wild and crazy life of ours :) So, here goes....who know how this will pan out. Wish us luck!
